So.
The thing is.
I am SUPER into Metal Detecting… and you would be surprised at how people look at you when you tell them you are “SUPER into Metal Detecting.”
But I shake it off, because I’m also PRETTY into Treasure Hunting… which, by the by, happened to lead me and a couple buddies to discover a 60-foot-long arrow, carved into straight-up solid rock, on the top of a mountain in Wyoming (!), via Google Earth (!!), after being led there by clues in Forrest Fenn’s Treasure Poem (!!!). Naturally, we had to see it in person. We didn’t find Fenn’s chest of gold, but it was the trip of a lifetime, and as it turned out, we weren’t too far off.
Here’s that arrow…
(literally on a mountain top in the middle of nowhere)
So yeah, I’d say my hobbies do tend to get some novel looks at first, (drone flyin’ is the latest one), and more often than not, people say, “That’s so dorky”, or “You sound like my grandpa”, but then they get kinda quiet… “uh so…the next treasure hunt… you think maybe… I could come?”

I’m also an award-winning Designer and Art Director based in Austin, TX.
